Ulf has composed the music on this CD and suddenly reveals a completly new musical profile to me. On this recording he performs his own tunes, all of which possess the age old mark of excellence: singability. It becomes apparent as you listen that each piece has its own innate melodic power. Herein also lies part of the personality.

Joining Ulf on this CD is pianist Anders Persson whos playing is confident, elegant and very dynamic. The double bass of Anders Jormin finds the air pockets created when Persson catches his breath. Jormin fills these small holes with meaningful notes which are both exciting and full of vitality. And all of this together with Peter Burman who supplies us with enticing colors from his keyboard. He is also the one who makes the music grow through beautiful horn arrangements on some of the tunes. The drums of Terje Sundby etch themselves into my percussive heart...
