Band leader Peter Vuust’s compositions carries the tradition from the earlier releases öTravel Lightö (1996) and öThe Big Viewö (1998) in a beautiful and lyrical way. Vuust has received lots of credit for his talent as a composer and for his exquisite bass playing. Together with Alex Reil, who has given a whole generation his ingenious and superbly swinging drum playing, Vuust creates the base for the poetic compositions. There are both new compositions and old favourites on the album, there was also room for a standard (öThe Masquerade is overö by Allie Wrubel/Herb Magidson), that gives the listener the opportunity enjoy Ove Ingemarsson’s fabulously virtuous solo and Lars Jansson’s sublime melodious feeling. In this well playing quartet you find some of the best Scandinavian jazz musicians. Both Lars Jansson and Alex Riel have received Grammys for their own jazz albums and the Swedish sax player Ove Ingemarsson is known from many Scandinavian constellations.

All music in the creative vein, with Peter Vuust who has composed all music except "The Masquerade is Over". The opening "Homesick" and "Foundation and earth" have a lightly melancholy touch, allthough it swings enormously now and then in "Homesick". With Ingemarsson's good tenor sax in the first one and in the second his soprano sax in searching tone windings round the theme, to strongly accentuating drums from Riel, before the band leader delivers well a balanced solo on his singing and "clumsily" Mingus influenced bass. Jansson, piano, creativly personal as allways. Thord Ehnberg, Ljusnan
