When my children were small and it was bedtime, I’d pick up the guitar and sing a few jazz standards to them. It didn’t take long until my daughter started singing along. Her little voice joining in, three octaves above my own, has imprinted itself as a memory for life. These songs, which I’ve played instrumentally over the years, grew in size and meaning. The full extent of their lyrical beauty became even more apparent to me. My idea with this recording was to keep the intimacy of the bedroom concerts intact.
